The following FAQ is for technical questions only. For any issues wiht BF2142 please refer to the BF2142 forums, which can be found here.

Q What PC requirements do I need for First Strike?
A If you can run BF2142, you are able to run First Strike.

Q Can I delete the BF2142 folder when I have First Strike installed?
A No. You will need the BF2142 folder to be able to play First Strike.

Q What version of BF2142 do I need to run First Strike?
A First Strike allways strive to use the latest BF2142 patch. Currently that is 1.25

Q Do I need to buy any BF2142 expansion packs to run BF2142?
A No. No expansion pack is needed to run First Strike.

Q My game just started jacking up and running very slowly out of the blue when I started it up, what can I do?
A Could be because you need to clear your mod cache, go to: MyDocs/Battlefield 2142/mods/FirstStrike/cache/ and delete all the files/folders in there. Restart PC and see if it helps.

Q I keep getting weird Punkbuster errors every time I try to join a server.
A This isnt a First Strike error. you need to manualy update your punkbuster. For information how to do this, go to http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Q Some objects ingame are pure black in parts how do I fix this?
A Go to your First Strike video settings and raise view distance to 100% if it cuts into performance you may have to lower a different setting to make up for it.

Q. Why does this server not allow other weapons?
A.  The server has its settings to no unlocks.  All who run servers please enable unlocks so First Strike can be more balanced and fun.

Q. Should I download the new beta patch?
A. No, FS will run on the newest official running patch.

I was wondering why when i join a game i can never get the other weapons like the emp or the rocket launcher. can u plz tell how to get them?

Q: Im getting modified content errors. How do I fix this?
A: Reinstall FS. If that doesnt fix it, then try joining a vanilla 2142 server. If the same error occurs, its the 2142 patch. Either reinstall 2142, or the patch. To reinstall the patch, you will need to edit the version registry key at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2142\ - set it to 1.0, then reinstall the patch.
