Topic: have a slight/big problem

ok so recently ive talked with ea to get my game working again, every time i would try to start the game it would say conflict with emulation software, ea concluded it was a disc error or something like that which they just had me download a replacement exe. for the default exe. and problem was solved, well later on i found this mod, i think its awesome so i downloaded it and again i try to launch it after i updated it and it said...conflict with emulation software, can someone help me?

Go to your 2142 installation directory.  Delete "FirstStrike.exe", make a COPY of your replacement exe and rename it to "FirstStrike.exe".  Try to launch First Strike.  Let us know if that works smile

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

Did you launch First Strike through the First Strike launcher, or just double click on the (new) FirstStrike.exe?  Clicking on the .exe will start up 2142.

Create the file FirstStrike.exe to use the game without  NO DVD FIX.errors open dvd Battlefield 2142 ?

Little history of my problems. 1st time I called, it was because 2142 didnt want to work, got a new disc for free, 2nd & 3rd times were activation iusses, the final time, someone in EA, got it right and activated it for me. So the lesson here is, unless you can get help from other sources, EA is not always your friend. Same thing with CoD2 for Vista except for that is different.
