Having trouble hosting

Hello,

So I've followed Twigs instruction on hosting. I'm using BF2142cc to host the server, but I can't seem to use the BF2142cc GUI program to log into the server and change the map listings.

Any idea why I can't connect? I've opened all of the ports needed, put all the files where they need to go, etc.

Hi everyone! It is my first time at this forum, and after me, Talon, TankCrew and RsfAngelus played on my server, I decided to write how easy is to run Firststrike server. Also Talon said to me to describe my adventure, how I made it, so before I post those 3 steps, please read this short story
I wanted to have at least once my own firststrike server, and I tried everything I found on this forum, but unfortunately nothing worked for me. Every time my server was red, or if I was able to join, I get modified content error. So I decided to make this server work by my way, simple way. Well I was afraid it will not work, but after joined, I laughed so much, how easy is to make Firststrike server

So, here is what I done:
1. Copy entire FirstStrike folder from your bf2142/mods folder and paste it to your server/mods;
2. Copy modmanager.py from yourserver/mods/bf2142/settings and paste it to yourserver/mods/Firststrike/settings
3. Setup server and here you go!

Only 3 steps are needed, but cc is a little bugged, and everytime will be made a change that need server restart, maps will be reseted and mod will be changed to default one. So before start server, you must setup everything(when server is stopped), that happened to me I dont know how cc will act for others, those bugs.
My server is working, we played on it so posts like "this not work" will mean that you messed something.

Oh and last thing, if you ever wanted fight using bf2142 air vehicles against FirstStrike air vehicles, you should join my server, I run it sometimes when I play FirstStrike, just ask and I make it

I put up a FS Server but I cannot connect to it all the servers are red to me.

I get some error client version is older than the server please update blah blah but I am at version 1.51!

I've done two full installs of this and it's officially pissed me off.

Why am I getting this error when I'm patched to 1.51? Can someone help me please. Server is "VETERANS-GAMING COOP FSMOD"

People who can successfully create a server on First Strike 1.5

I wanted to know if there were people here who were successful in creating a First Strike 1.5 server. This includes LAN servers and people who create internet servers with the First Strike Server files or whatever files they have.

Please respond and explain your method clearly and as detailed as possible so everyone who couldn't create a server could enjoy their own server to share with others. Thanks

server set up problem, appears red

We are trying to set up a server.

Its all set except for that the server appears Red to all FirstStrike players, and they cant join.

Works fine with 2142, everyone can join

how did the other servers solve this (server side) showing up as red to everyone problem?

Server Problems

Okay, so I just got the game Battlefield 2142 and just downloaded and installed the server, mod and put the server files in the mod section (then extracted the files from the bf2142 server.rar into the battlefield 2142 server folder) and of course replaced all existing files. But when I click on "bf2142_w32ded.exe" I get an error message that says "Errors occurred" at the top and the massage is "See the logfile 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 Server\bf2142_w32ded.exe.log' for details" Quickly Following this error message, a "Launcher Updater" window comes up and it says "Please wait while First Strike Launcher is updated". In the white window at the bottom, it says "Download: poo.zip" and that part finishes, then it gets too "Extract: bf2142_w32ded.exe" and it seems to freeze. Thats as far as I've gotten.

SYSTEM SPECS:

I am running a Dell Dimension 4550, Pentium 4, 1.66 ghz processor, 2 gigs of ram, and a 512 video card (Nividia GeForce 6200) And my OS is Windows XP service pack 2.

Okay, so maybe i'm installing it wrong, or something. But long story short is that i cannot get my sever to come up at all. I have the firststrike launcher in front of me, so I'm assuming i have it all installed correctly, however, whenever i press launch i get one of two things. It either loads up, and i get a DOS window that has some sever info with a thing that says "Game" No game" and some other information. OR i get this lovely error message that has plagued me saying that a DILL is not found. So I've tried deleting it and reinstalling it for quite some time, and i am as lost a a child. I'm not very computer savvy please any and all help be very, very specific and detailed on how to find and fix it. Before anyone askes i am running it as admin, i have tired it using the compatability functions, and i have attempted to add it as a permited force through my macefee virus stuff, all of which didn't fix the situation at all. Please help me if you can thank you very, very much.

US Servers Broken

Since the latest release, the Wolfgaming.net server has not been working.

I think this might have a negative effect on player numbers since a new player might try to join the nearest server and give up on the mod when it seems to not be working.

I've brought this to their attention but they still seem to be having some problems getting it ssorted.

I think a Dev or someone with server experience would be able to help them get it up and running. See the thread below if you want to look into it:

The only other US server, CCC Gaming is also having trouble. I joined Mos Entha co-op today and there were no flags so the bots just wander around killing each other. (Interesting in the beginning but pointless in the end)

I don't have any contact info for them, hopefully they will visit here and get help.

Hopefully there will not be a mad rush to CCC Gaming now to go laugh at the bots.

No Servers

I recently downloaded FS. When I clicked on the launcher it updated. One of the problems I had with the Launcher which the game would become unresponsive while the launcher was loading it. I used 2142 to get around that. Then when I went onto MP on the FS mod there were no servers. I removed all the selection boxes except same Version and Same mod. I decided to try removing Same version and it came up with a bunch of servers. I downloaded the most recent version originally so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Hey guys, I downloaded today the mod, great mod indeed, but well, here's the point, it sayes that I have to type +widescreen 1 on preferences arg. but well the thing is that when I hit launch, it just doesn't launch the game, but it appears to be a proses in task manager, I waited like 5 minutes, and nothing, I have to launch the mod from bf2142, and wait twice, its kinda annoying, what is it wrong?. And by the way, the battle of the death star is heavy glitched, I hit deploy and it freezes or the death star terrain disappears and all becomes flickering and flashing, the pointer, everything, and then puffffff, stops working... that was on SP...

Please if somebody knows what to do, thank you, for both of those problems if possible and by the wat, there's no abilable servers or there's no servers working... nothing appears on list.

Problem to update FS 1.5 with Autoupdater on linux

when I try to update the server with FirstStrikeServer.py, it download the fsbuild_1015.zip, unpack the mod but after it stays like this and wont rebuild the zip files again
last entry is "Error connecting to update server", the server starts and if you connect you will get a CTD of course

with 1.4 and updates, the auto updater did work

I just uploaded the the server files from my updated client now for a workaround
