Hey team, GREAT NEWS! I've figured out everything! Just needed to run it as an administrator! Played 2142 online for a full round and quit myself lol, haven't tested FS with others online, but I joined a server and wasn't punkbusted. WOO!

I'm going to try reinstalling 2142 and see if that works. Hope it does, don't want to miss any more of the campaign! lol

Yeah, got singleplayer all patched up. Runs like a dream on this beast. Now I just need to sort out punkbuster.

Edit: I'm running 1015 now. And I downloaded the Punkbuster manual updater and updated BF2142 and I was still kicked. I checked base 2142 as well, and it kicked me there too.

ref punkbuster, do a search for evenbalance or punkbuster, download the manual updater thing and install it. When it asks for a game, put in BF2142 then it should search for and download the PB updates and fix that for ya.

Not sure on the local/SP one. Sounds unusual that the game didn't patch with the launcher..thats the first thing I'd check out.

Hit file/preferences now you have the launcher and post what version is shows. You should be running 1015 to play on the current servers.

Hey FS team! Just got an uber custom-built gaming desktop with Windows 7. Getting First Strike on here was almost... too easy... First off, BF2142 is now already patched to 1.51, so no work there, but then when I downloaded and installed FS, the game launched without patching through the launcher. I don't even know where the launcher is! I can get in game, log in, AND join a multiplayer server. Here's why I'm here, though. Whenever I start a local server/singleplayer game. It freezes after Deploy, then brings me back to the map selection page. In multiplayer, it doesn't freeze after Deploy, but Punkbuster kicks me out. Again, I'm running 64bit Windows 7. I have a feeling that's behind all of this. Ideas?

Edit: A re-install fixed the missing launcher problem. The world's starting to make sense again. I'll keep you updated.
