UPDATE:

FS Launcher Installers updated to fix a number of issues including allowing people to install it wherever they want. The Launcher itself will automatically update itself with the hotfixes we've rolled out this week to address other issues which have been raised since the launch of 1.6.

If you want this fix head to the FS 1.6 Release news post and you'll find the links have been updated to this new version of the Launcher Installer.

Launcher Installer has also now received an update which should rectify some of the issues some people were having with custom resolutions causing crashes, and I believe it also sorts out the issue of the Launcher only being able to install to one specific location, it should now be able to install to whatever location you specify. This should all be automatically updated next time you use the launcher.

Thanks for the bug report. I will update the launcher installer so the user can change the install folder. I will also add a message to run the launcher as admin so that it will save the configuration changes.

Curses, every time I fire up First Strike and see a few people on the server, something comes up and I've got to do a job or something, and when I get back and am free to play? Damned thing is empty again. Happened to me twice today.

Damn you all! Hopefully catch up with you for a few games tonight.

Btw, there are some issues with the new Launcher:

1.
I chose to install the new Launcher somewhere on my D-drive, but instead it installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\FirstStrikeLauncher.

It seems to work fine if I just cut and paste the files on the C-directory to the D-directory, but still .

2.
I often run FS in windowed mode, but my preferred windowed resolution isn't listed.
I can enter my own resolution in the pulldownbox, but that doesn't get saved - it reverts back to 800x600. A bit too small for my liking .

I can edit the config.xml file though... and it works that way as well.

Is that something you can fix?

All in all no game-breaking things so far!
