Yes, unfortunately at this time there is only one available server, and I'm afraid you might not be able to join as we are currently using it to test the latest release.

On the other hand, you might just find the singleplayer surprisingly challenging

Thank you very much! It works now! I only have 1 question left, is it normal there is only 1 server in multiplayer? I already did the uncheck thing from you installation guide...

Did you make sure you updated BF2142 first?

Please try this:

1) Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)

2) Locate and delete the folder titled First Strike (Don't worry, this is just the launcher, not the whole mod.)

3) Now go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\FirstStrike

4) Locate the program called FirstStrike_Launcher_0.0.8.1 and run it. It will reinstall the launcher program for you. Once done, go back and see if it now works.

If that still results in the same error, then you could try our latest version of the launcher, which will be available with 1.6 anyway. First you will need to download the new launcher:

Now, to get you running with the new launcher follow these steps:

1) Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)

2) Locate and delete the folder titled First Strike (Don't worry, this is just the old launcher, not the whole mod.)

3) Remaining in C:\Program Files (x86) create a new folder called FirstStrikeLauncher

4) Locate your downloaded new autolauncher, it is a zip file, you just need to copy it to the folder you created, then extract the contents. The easiest way is once you have copied it to the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FirstStrikeLauncher
Right click on the zip file then choose extract here or similar type wording.

5) With all the files now in the folder, right click on the file called FirstStrikeLauncher and select 'send to' then 'desktop (create shortcut)'. Voila, the new launcher is insstalled.

Could you be a little more specific of what you did?
I would like to give it a try... Im not really that into this kind of stuff so could you give me some clear instructions?

I've had something like that happen what I did was extract it outside of the folder and then put the files back and it worked the next time I ran it. I'm not sure what caused the error you got.

I have downloaded battlefield 2142 yesterday, and after that i downloaded the first strike mod. But when it finnally downloaded the launcher and the files. i clicked the launcher( i turned everything to 'run as admin') it starts updating and installing but then i get an error message: 'errors occurred: see the logfile C:\Program Files(x86)\FirstStrike\FirstStrikeLauncher.exe.log

After that it downloads the 'publauncher0.0.8.4.zip' perfectly but it gets stuck at 'Extract: FirstStrikeLauncher.exe'

I'm running Windows 7 and i have tried redownloading First strike again but that didn't work.

Please some one help me!
