Hmmm. I'm starting to really not like UAC.

I might just skip trying to work around it by asking up front for admin privileges when starting the launcher. Not only do we need admin access when updating the launcher itself, but if the user has BF2142 installed in a UAC controlled directory we need admin access both when updating the mod and when creating the FirstStrike.exe when launching for the first time.

And there's no way to ask for an individual UAC prompt when executing an internal function..

I got this issue too and am running on XP. It appeared to wipe out my settings the first time I ran it and I got the error message, but on opening the Launcher again everything was fine again and I could still play the mod.

With the new update I still got the error on running the Launcher, so I re-installed it with the Launcher Installer and it ran and updated it in two seconds, so it wasn't too much of in inconvenience, but we'll probably have to put out a post about it or something so people know that they might have to re-install their Launcher.

Terribly sorry for everyone affected.

1.6.6.7 is now live, but if you're stuck at 1.6.6.5 right now (check Help->About in the launcher to see which version you have) you might have to run the launcher installer again. Next time you start the launcher (as Administrator!) it will update to 1.6.6.7

1.6.6.7 should fix most of the problems reported. Starting with this version you should not need to run the launcher as Administrator, it will instead give you a UAC prompt when needed

You can now also add new resolutions by typing them into the resolution field in Preferences and saving.

Hey guys,

Well I watched the livestream and it made me want to check out the new release but it has been years since I've played.

My question is, is the v1.5 release the same as the 1.55 release that the Downloads Page has on it? If not, where do I get 1.55?

Also the launcher has a setting to set your resolution, but does it also add the widescreen command?
