Virtual RAM is virtual only, and does not exist in the real world. I guess the only tanagable evidence would be microscopic magnetic waves found on the holes of your hard drive. But basicaly, virtual memory is when your real RAM fills up and there's more data that needs accessing. It would then be placed on a specified amount of reserved hard drive space (4 gigabytes) and accessed like RAM. This is very bad, because even the fastest SCSI hard drive cannot even come close to the bandwidth of RAM. So having virtual RAM shouldn't be needed if you have enough memory. And it's even bad if you have to use it.

Is virtual RAM any good??? I got 4GB of it, does it help at all? I think it does.

I have no idea why anyone care but:

Medium to low
CPU - Intel petium 4 3.02Ghz
Ram - 778mb Ram (Buying 2-3GB on sunday)
Video card - NVIDIA Geforce FX5200 256mb
Mother Board - GigaByte motherboard with onboard sound and network
HDD - 30Gb + 20GB HDD

ahh!!! a mouse with wires!!
my desktop is blue to, only with a G15 and a better glowing mousepad: one with 4 usb hub in it
every thing on hig is great, cept the lighting with the flags. they look just not right

ok here we go, round medium high:
Intel Celeron D 2.53gh(2.6oc)
BFG tech GeForce 6200 OC 256mb video ram
80 gb hard drive(it's my second cpu, don't need to stroe music ect. on it)
1024MB RAM(When i turn up my virtual RAM up it shows over 5GB on task manager)
Only thing that sucks is it's PCI slots and only 2 memory spots and I'm gonna get a new motherboard and put it together soon so I can get PCIe and 4-8 memory slots

50lbs Steel Case (The true power source of my machine)

I'm trying to convince my folks to buy me a Nvidia GeForce 6800GS OC 256MB, but it's a lot easier said then done...

I have rather similar specs to sgt. fuzz... although if I had my way, it would of been an AMD processor in there.
