900 units
I once built 10,000 (maybe more) Red guard in C&C generals, It coverd half the map in almost solid infantry. It took 10 barracks roughly an hour to make, costing millions of dollars. I tried to move them all and the game was that close to crashingthat it took 15 minutes for the first guy to cross the map (and he didn't have all that far to walk) .

Any way different game so you can't really compare, but this was the largest army ive ever seen in an rts game.

love rome total war.. went on abit too long for me, so i got the extra units mod, had about 900unit fight it out on screen once.. what a site.. until ya try to move and rotate that is... LAG!!

Was playing Rome:Total War and this quote came up, made me think of the mod:
