It's pretty easy, you can't be behind a fire wall, so if you have a home network, your server PC has to come BEFORE the router. Also, you CAN'T turn off your PC once you have started the Dedicated Windows Server software that comes with the release, or else you'll have some very angry Star Wars fans. Other than that, it's just a matter of keeping it on all the time and having the correct software running.

A friend of mine and myself are soon going to get some new computers and we are talking about if we could use mine old PC for a server. Problem is I don´t know much about servers, all I have checked is minimum requirements (384MB RAM, 1 Ghz for 16 players).

If we start one it will be on a 100Mbit line and my old computer is an AMD Athlon 1800 1,5 Ghz, and we will put in so it will have 1024MB RAM.

Question is, is it really hard to run a server or is it something thats pretty easy to learn and how big server do you guys think I can use with my old PC ?.
