Infantry own any vehicle if they are in diverse squads and work together. One guy can distract a tank while the other plants c4. Planes are different, but just take cover and spot it so someone can come and help with AA.

I guess I'm like Harry that I love the vehicles, and I don't find that the maps are vehicle heavy at all. I personally love it when you're in the middle of a infantry fire fight when this machine rolls up and starts laying some heavy fire and you have to find a way to overcome the new obstacle. Infantry maps are cool but always feel bland if there aren't one or two vehicles, just to keep things interesting.

I'm the other way around, completely.. BF42 was all about the vehicles and thats why I loved it.. pilot those gawdawfully huge ships and kerplow anyone dumb enough to be within range and visible. BF2 takes a bit of that away, turning the capitol ships into static bases. The armor provided is far too scarce for my tastes even in the heavy maps. Some infantry only maps are good, but on the other hand a crazy vehicle bonanza WOULD be fun. c'mon, admit it...

those people long ago and far away were far lazier than any of us could be. they had droids to do the scut work, Hover-tools to take the strain of everything else off. you think they're going to WALK everywhere? or avoid a vehicle if they can avoid it? we should code a REALLY short stamina bar..

with the shellshock effect if you run it out

Im not a big fan of BF2 . I dont like Vehicle orientated ground maps ( our space maps will be diffewrent of course ) However I LOVE BF2: Special Forces since its more infantry orientated. Yes, there are still vehicles but it wouldnt feel right havin no tanks etc to leg it away from lol . There pretty easy to take down anyway. In vanilla BF2 you need a vehicle to get anywhere on the majority of maps (which are too open to hide from tanks )

Give me Urban warfare with tanks

Although, for FirstStrike, I want a lot of vehicles because its not like your just getting some new Humvees, I mean were talking AT-AT's and XWings and a ton of cool stuff here. I think balance is a good idea, but don't cut back on those vehicles we love, at least for this mod.

That sounds cool. I do hope however to see a more commander based role. Artillery, while cheap sometimes, was certaintly important strategically. Bf is very unique in that it provides a view of the battle from all pionts, that of the close in infantry man, the far off fighter jockey, and the all wise commander. The commander's ability to guide his troops should boosted I think, like maybe offering incentives to people who obey the orders, instead of ignoring them.

dolphin diving is not possible anymore in bf2 since a patch or two ago if I'm not mistaken. as for vehicles, we are aiming for both styles. the extremes will be an all infantry map (possibly with just a few transports) and the the space maps which obviously are mostly about space fight.
