Iv lost count how many times iv been killled by a pistol off 1 shot when iv leathered into the guy with my machine gun . Then again , if pistols didnt have an advantage at close range it would be useless.

more accurate when zoomed in / iron sights, yeah that's possible. personally I would want the players to be forced to stand still/crouch/prone for 100 percent accuracy, running should increase the deviation rather much otherwise it'll all turn out into some strafe/skate shootout, not very convincing and sort of ruins the feeling at least for me. Rest assured that we'll try our best to find the best balance between the extremes

its completely unrealistic at the ranges I have experienced. Even short bust firing with the M16 on 3 round burst is deviated too far.
I understand the need fror reducing aim whilst moving but random is not good. GC had excellent shooting and the hits to kill were very acceptable, nothing was random even on the move. You couldn't aim very well but the shots, as you could see by the tracers, went where they were supposed to. Bf2 i get bullet marks miles away from where the iron sights are homed in on. Maybe random shooting or deviation could be implemented for shooting with out iron sights but removed when in iron sight view? I am just happy you guys are making this mod

bf2 has a thing called deviation modifier depending on how long you've shot, if you are moving, crouch etc. The modifier makes the bullet deviate with a random direction, and this modifier changes depending on situation as I said.

For instance if you shoot single shots you'll hit pretty much excactly where you aim, but if you shoot a whole mag in a single cascade, you'll get a lot of devation and not hit much after the first few shots.

We've got complete controll over these modifiers for our own weapons obviosly, not sure how we'll do it though. Having them makes it all more realistic, you'll not hit very good while you're running for example, but hit much better when you stand still and crouch.

we'll see
