The open beta (as far as I know) is open to everyone who owns BF2 and gets an invitation. Check out the forums at bf2142.com for more information on this.

The news of Quake Wars isn't surprising, but I just hope that bf2142 isn't pushed back. Anything can happen

would you buy 2142 if the titan was a USS Enterprise instead of a giant camera? I'd like to see a bonus map with something from star trek that we can explode in FS.

Heck, im hoping for a quick release, but from experience it often doesnt happen.

Would a fast release implement cool ideas like blast doors in boarding actions?

Open beta for 2142... if it was an open beta for first strike, hell yeah, if it was open for 2142, then i dont care heh.

Its first strike I would buy 2142 for, not its generic,sci fi bs with titans that look like.... floating digital camera/ blender things.

I thought ET:QuakeWars was gonna be out before BF2142?

If its been put back then it just goes to show that even a games company gets setbacks and/or underestimates the time till release.

Also, for everyone who doesn't know, there will be an open beta for 2142 starting in August. Open means absolutely free and open to everyone, and that's what it will be.

Good news, bf2142 release=FS release = very good. NOw we actually have an accurate release date: Within the month of which 2142 comes out.
