On my modding computer it took an hour and a half to install 1.3 full, on my other computer it just took the normal 5-10 minutes.

I have a mounted bf2 iso on my computer so I never have to put the disc in, but if I play the game, quit it, and try to play it again I need to put the disc in drive or eject it and close it again if it's already in or else I just get the graphic. Try to eject the disc tray then close it basically is what I'm saying.

It definetly shouldn´t take that long to install the patches. I´d say, give it another go. Sounds like something got corrupted big time. Patching should be relatively fast. Maybe even download the patch again to make sure it´s in prime condition. Might wanna try to play a single player with the vanilla first to see if it´s ok.

So, I recently had to reinstall BF2, which seemed to go fine, eveything was installed correctly (apparantly; I didn't try to play before I updated), then I updated to 1.3 via an update patch I found in My Documents I assumed was the one I used a long time ago. Entitled: BF2_Full_13.exe , inside it clearly stated that this will update you to 1.3 .

Things got slightly fishy here.... it took well over 3 hours to update, is that normal when starting from an out of the box version? Anywho, I stuck in Disc 1, the auto-start thingy poped up, then I hit "Play BF2". The BF2 Graphic poped up as if it were loading, but it never loaded. I hit ctrl+alt+delete and saw that I apparantly had no Aplications running, although I clearly saw BF2. I then snooped around in Processes and found the BF2.exe process taking up 0% of my processing power, infact there was no serious processor usage besides System idle Processes, so it obviously wasn't just taking a super long time to load...

I noticed a SMALL amount of the plastic from the inside of my Disc 1 CD was cracked off, but not enough to not let the spinning thing grip on to it, and it worked well during installation and for auto-start up.

Well, can anyone help me out?
