As an update, TotalBF: 2142 posted an excerpt from an IGN article that had some new information regarding the beta. Take note of the first phase mentioned here. I doubt you'll have to pay for the entire duration of the beta since EA has been saying it's "open" for a while.

Starting next week, Fileplanet subscribers will have the opportunity to check out the Battlefield franchise's foray into the future when the first phase of the beta begins. Players will be able to test out the new Titan mode as well as the wide array of new weaponry and vehicles. Some of the changes certainly sound like a lot of fun so we're pretty eager to take a look at the game ourselves.

Lol fileplanet arent charging for the Beta, Fileplanet is a good alround resource if ur into gaming and finding out whats hot and whats not. I have a subscribers account and i regularly download demos to see if i like the game.

Just so happens ill have my hands on the beta, muhahahaha

fileplanet will release it publicly after the initial subscriber dies down, they need money to stay afloat and they'l make it this way

no, dice gave it to fileplanet for free, thus dice have held there side of the bargain up. its up to fileplanet (who just so happen to have a charge system inplace) to do what they like with the file, thus charge people

Now wait a minute dice it would be free for bf2 veterans. I assumed the fileplanet thing was for subscribers that don't have bf2. Am I right to think that?
