Some of our guys just like sketchup and some other apps for modelling, but everything gets finalised in Max. (if xero's answer wasn't good enough)

For the most part its pretty flexible for creating models, tho we do encounter problems with some of the meshes, flipping, extra verts etc. If they had some decent export plugins would make it more reliable.

To be honest switching over was the only logical thing to do.

I think most people just were dissapointed, because it meant waiting a little longer. Another character builder by the way.

Which only shows how the community is craving for a conversion like this. With LA's abomantions (I played them) recently, this might look like the holy land for most of us.

So keep up the great work.

P.S.: What are you guys doing with Sketchup? I use it at work and at home and I read somewhere it's being used for this mod. Maybe I can help in some way.

I think the vast majority of people are glad ,or atleast can see the positives of moving to BF2142. The funny thing is , the community seems to have grown since we announced we were moving to BF2142. The bad part is a few people are adament they wont be buying BF2142 and therefore wont be playing FS (Zanth springs to mind). Whilst this isnt good , things change and im 100% sure the change to BF2142 is a positive move for all concerned.

Well I haven't posted in a while but I have been keeping an eye on things here.

I'm sorta disapointed in the negative reaction by alot of fans over the 2142 move. After watching some of the videos for it and seeing whats being done in game, staying with BF2 would be retarded for what you want/need in a starwars setting.

This has all probably been beaten to death before my post about it but its a shame to see so many people getting angry about somthing that should be obvious to them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys can do with the starwars setting and the 2142 engine.

If $50 is really a problem for anyone then they can probably just ask their parents to buy it for them... Learning how to save builds character as well.. In AND out of game...

Anyway FS MOD guys try not to let assholes get to you! I've seen it hurt a couple mod comunities in the past. One more tip from somone who doesn't know anything about making a mod... hehe.. Trying to please everyone just leads to endless nerfing and other problems.

Come on everyone lets hear some support for these guys!! Maybe if there are enough cheers they will get more done...
