Ramseus did a great job skinning the TIE's and they actually do have a blue hue to them. In the ingame screenshots they don't because if the lighting.

Also, in FS so far all the craft but the TEI's have visible cockpits. The TIE's don't because of a plethora of modelling issues at the time. Besides, this means that there are no polys wasted on such things, so the mod should run .2 fps faster.

Okay, here's what I'm saying:

This is like a completely freakin sweet awesome model! I think it looks fantastic! Only part that doesn't look fantastic/real to me is the cockpit, being all totally black and such, whereas

On the movie model, here, although you can't see the pilot (most likely cause one isn't in there, but in universe, probably cause he's black, and the inside of the ship is black....) but you can see the outline of like the console and a bit of the inside of the cockpit.

So that's what I'm talking about.

and the colour (should) be blueish - it looks blue in the wallpaper but in these pics it looks less blue, so I'm not sure whether FS is going with blue or grey TIEs, but you can see the model above is blue, and on Wookieepedia (that GREAT source of RELIABLE info, lol) it says

Originally meant to have a blue color on the hull, this was abandoned when blue-screen filming made the fighters transparent. The original TIE/ln fighters seen in A New Hope were relatively white in color; the TIEs of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were more grey with a gradual blueish hue added during post-production

So whatevs, on the colour, though I always preferred blue. Looked more sinister to me.

Slave 1 has clear glass, as do most starfighters as the models used while filming in the original films didn't have glass for the most part because of the limitations caused by the bluescreen reflecting off them, in ROTJ the A-Wing had glass in it's canopy but this was still clear. The only original trilogy starship with tinted windows was the Imperial Shuttle which had an almost solid black tinted canopy over it's cockpit.

TIEs windows are tinted black, so you probably couldn't see much even if you looked REALLY closely. Same with the Slave II, I am pretty sure they are tinted black as well... Most otherships have clear glass windows I beleive.
