Hi there. This has been discussed before. No mention from the devs what they're planing on, but I think perhaps a zoom in wouldn't be bad, or an alternate down looking view for the bombers.

I brought this up on the G.C. boards a long time ago, and I thought it could be brought up here, too.

Has anyone played Forgotten Hope and climbed into a tank's gun position? There are two views (and external views): the regular internal view, but with cross hairs removed, and a zoomed-in "periscope/gun sight view", with authentic aiming tools. The player sees what the tanker would see when looking through his gun sight or periscope (FH School, 1.2).

My question is, wouldn't this be an idea for First Strike? I'm particularly thinking about the T-65c X-Wing's targeting computer (the ones they pull down in front of their eyes in A New Hope), although I theorize that the Y-Wing and B-Wing have similar systems. Basically, it'd give you a zoomed view of what's ahead, and it'd also allow you to lock on your weapons. If possible, you could also code the numbers so that they actually did count down to when you were in range and then said "IN RANGE", like in the movies.

Note: This is not a discussion of the anti-fighter targeting systems of the TIE Fighter, X-Wing, X-1 TIE Advanced, etc. noticed in A.N.H. and R.O.T.J. (where fighters can pivot their lasers to hit targets slightly above them, for example). That's for the Lock On Lasers thread.
