I've been lately playing game called Okami. It's REALLY the best game you can get for PS2. It's so beautiful and there's good story. Game is also very long which is very rare "feature" on new games. It's innovative, you are using celestical brush to solve puzzles. If you love japanese humor and way of life you must get this game! Everyone self-respect Playstation player SHOULD get this game. It's piece of art. It got 93% avarage rating in gamerankings.com site that tells some facts! Really I'm hooked on this game. It's good stuff while waiting PS3 to arrive. 
It's using cel shading based graphics so still pics won't look too good.
