maybe also have a campaign to stop a civil war by beating up on both sides so as to not show any favourtism like in TIE Fighter which would bassically be the EU and PAC, nerfed so that they are rather primitive by Imperal standards, their tanks can't stand up to imperail tanks, their Walkers no match for AT-STs etc but they have alot more of them for balance purposes, so one map the Imperials are protecting an EU location from a PAC attack and in the next the Imperials are protecting the PAC from the EU Counterattack to show that they will not tollerate any further aggressions from either side.

another idea I had a while back when playing TIE Fighter recently is of specific joint strike opperations, in TIE Fighter and even in Star Wars Galaxies, you disable a vessel and a shuttle carrying stormtroopers shows up and takes over that vessel or you escort a transport to take over a station etc, it would be awesome to actually have players for that job as well, like the Pilots have their duty to protect the transport and to attack the enemy while the Troopers have their duty to take over the ship/station. destroying a Titan from the inside was far more fun than boarding the Capital Ships in Battlefront 2.

About your post , we discussed a long time ago having other factions such as pirates , tuskens , Quarren etc. and have them face off against the empire. Im sure you'll see such "law and order" type maps in the future at some point.

The thing I remember the most from TIE Fighter was that the Galactic Empire was not portrayed as the all-evil juggernaut of most other games. In TIE Fighter you established border stations, inspected civilian traffic, fought pirates, defended research facilities, and ended a civil war. The Empire, from the TIE Fighter point of view, was a just guardian of law and order.

I'm thinking a few maps like that in First Strike couldn't hurt. An extraction mission where you are to rescue a hostage from terrorists, a map where you are to raid a pirate platform in space, and so on. Or something like taking out a military facility because the build-up there is violating some seize-fire agreement. Just a thought.
