I just downloaded the Star Wars: Empire at War demo, and I plan to buy the full version once I get some money. Once I get the full version, and Petroglyph releases the mod dev. toolkit, I plan on scouring the model lists to see if I can find an Escort Shuttle model. Based on the gameplay in the demo, I'm guessing that there won't be one. Oh well.

O.T. I'm thinking about working on a Halo mod for Empire at War once the MDT is released. It's probably gonna be a ton of work to do by myself, but EaW has sooo much potential for the Halo universe. Anyone out there have EaW?

I'm pretty sure that it is around the same size as a lambda shuttle, maybe slightly smaller, but not much. I don't think that a rack would work well for this shuttle, and the landing gear would have to be extremely long to extend past the wingtips. Maybe the wings do fold, maybe there is a secret seam in the side that you can't see that allows the wings to fold. Or...maybe the wings fold like the F-18s, not at the base of the wings, but somewhere along the lengths of the wings, they bend upwards to allow the landing gear to touch the ground.

I'm not sure about any of this as the model on the first page of this post is the only high detail model that I have ever seen. The ones in X-Wing are maybe 100 polys.

It's probably smaller than the Lamda. But even so, I thing Draganov is right, the wing angles don't look like they were built for a rack.

Why not? It seems to be mainly a ship-to-ship shuttle, not a dropship.

But it would have to extend a long way, since it doesn't seem like the wings fold.

The shuttle in ROTS is the Theta-class Shuttle. The Direct predecesser to the Lambda-class Shuttle.

Anything is possible, but I don't think it used a rack, maybe the landingear is in the body, just like with an X-wing ....

My moneys either on the racks, or that it just hovers using repulsorlifts and the ramp extends past the wings.

I have come across several sites with information on the Escort Shuttle in my effort to research it, but most of them have conflicting information. The escort shuttle first appeared in the "official
EU in "X-Wing" I believe. If it wasn't in "X-Wing", it was in "TIE Fighter" for sure. Soyes it is an "official" EU vehicle. As for the specs on how it lands, I can't find any anywhere. My thought is that it might need its own docking platform, or it has a rather strange landing gear system. Another possibility is that it might be just designed to land on racks like the TIE fighters do.
