I thought that I would offer my skills and experience in my area of expertise as I really do believe that FIRST STRIKE will be MASSIVE when it is released - if I could mod I would have got involved ages ago!

Personally I believe that marketing before having something playable by the general masses just leads to wild speculation and massive expectations (as demonstrated here). Alternatively, a set release date will work, as it gives people a specific date to check the website when they know it will be out.

This is kinda my point and I don't disagree at all with what you have said

What I am saying is that all of this speculation and expectation needs to be carefully "managed" by the FIRST STRIKE team within a marketing "strategy", which is consistent with the overall FIRST STRIKE strategy

I am offering assistance in supporting the FS team into tying all of this together to ensure that expectations do not get built "too high" and that FIRST STRIKE will deliver all that it promises - and more! (it never hurts to exceed expectations )

I am of course working on the assumption that a lot of the FS team's resources are taken up with actually building the mod - it is obvious from lookign at the website and how the mod has been developed so far that someboby IS already taking these things into account, and doing a damn good job of it as far as I can see, with regular community updates etc. etc.

I am suggesting that having someone on the team that is NOT modding but focussing on supporting this person or team pull everything together in a more business type approach may be bebenificial

I have been following FIRST STRIKE for well over a year now and it is truly looking awesome

I would love to get involved but I am not a "modder" and would not contribute much to the modelling/artwork

However, I am an avid gamer and have been a member of various clans over the past few years in leadership positions playing STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 1 & 2 and BF2142 competitively

I think I would be able to give a mature view on the BETA TESTING and can also give a good view / opinion on how it performs on a "slower" connection - I can only receive a 512kbs (Half A MB) connection where I am so can offer some testing feedback on the performance - especially lag issues and hit detection issues - at these slower connection speeds

To ensure that FIRST STRIKE becomes the huge hit it deserves to be I am sure you will appreciate that it needs to perform well on the slower connections (usually in the UK ) as well as the uber connections that seem to be more commonplace in the US and mainland Europe

I would like to offer my services to help out with any marketing, planning, or "business type" issues (I appreciate that this venture is a not-for-profit initiative but applying business principles could certainly help IMHO)

Looking at the site and the approach so far you certainly seem to have this kind of thing well under control but I thought I would offer my services to add to this team

I have an MBA (Masters Degree in Business Administration) and extensive experience of marketing, research, branding, project management, business planning, strategic planning and implementation etc. etc.

I could provide a fresh set of eyes to look at and review your existing strategies and perhaps assist you in developing strategies and marketing plans as you approach release date

This is NOT an application to "take over" but to provide another set of eyes to the FIRST STRIKE team that is not distracted by modding etc. but purely focussed on supporting the planning and marketing of the mod (as well as some beta testing and fun )
