i got my js to work, go to controles and set up your stick....i cant decide if i should use a js or gamepad.....the game pad seems way too sensitive, and i keep getting owned when i use my js......i guess it will take practice......

I couldn't imagine giving up my CH, cost me 45 bucks splitting it with my dad. F-16 style controls are very comfortable and it in over a year of heavy use hasn't lost a bit of its performance, I LIKE having two Hat buttons and another 8 others to assign random controls to.

Looks like a nice stick, maybe you could find the drivers somewhere.

Or if you feel the need for wireless try a €50 Logitech Cordless Freedom

(although I myself prefer the shape of the wingman digital 3D, too bad it's not wireless)

What kind of JS you got? My Logitech Wingman Extreme works perfect on BF

I always used a JS for flying in GC,But it can be a little tricky when some one is on your pie and you're trying to scrabble around to get hold of your stick properly when switching vehicles etc.

So basically it's your joystick that doesn't work in Battlefield? Not much the developers can do about that.

havent tried this but the controls can be changed ingame to you liking. so i dont see a problem with changing the wasd controls to the y,x and z of a joystick.
Personally i fly much better in a tie uhm i mean airplane with my mouse and keyboard. its all in the settings for me

You haven't been playing MechWarrior for 2 years, I'm a hardcore JS user. Mouse+KB is vastly inferior to a JS for any aerial conflict for the simple reason that you don't have to move a JS and then move it to the opposite side to keep turning, a JS also has degrees of speed of said turn and you can do so indefinitely without moving your hand.
I've tried to get BF2142 to accept my JS but it will not, it doesn't recognize it as a device. I've made the decision to buy a new computer ASAP and it'll be Linux so it really won't make a damned difference really...all my games are either getting old or are (in the case of BF) buggy, I get lagged out of servers at most after a half-hour...thank you Road Runner "high-speed" (7 mbps my rotting undead pie) for sucking beyond compare!
I'll try installing the drivers to see if that works though.

yea space battles with a joystick are honestly better. but i can give even them noob that dont do anything else then fly a plane in bf2 a run for there money with my humble mey and keyboard redmoney

i'll try to set up the joystick to a walker one of these days. vanilla and report my findings ;p

lol i only use a js in bf2 to give me more of a flying effect with u know 2 hands lol but yes js would be an ok idea i guess, but u would probably own. besides if ur good at a mouse, then use a mouse if ur good at js then use a js

Is there something that's stopping you from using a joystick for what you want in vanilla bf2142? I currently use a joystick for all my FS testing and vanilla play (I don't use it for walkers though, only for aerial vehicles) and for the record...I fly circles around mouse and keyboard players

Would you please code in the ability to use Joysticks? I'm a MechWarrior 4 player and using a walker without a JS is just kind of uncomfortable to me. That's why I don't use them, if I could use a JS I'd be a good pilot and could probably take on a good number of people before being taken out myself. WASD+Mouse just doesn't seem like it would be as good as a JS, especially if some walkers are less manueverable than the stock BF2142 ones.
