That's certainly the feel we want it to give.
Similar to what I said in my dev diary, I look forward to vastly improving my composing so as the mod develops I'll hopefully be able to start writing more 'original' music but always aiming for an authentic Star Wars sound and feel.
As a SW fan and a game fan, that's what I would be expecting from a SW experience - certainly something fresh but something authentic and I'm sure lots here feel the same.

The original music sample is incredibly well done. It fits snuggly within John Williams' style for the original trilogy and sounds exceptionally Star Wars-ey. Impressive. Most impressive. *puts thumbs up*

I'm not sure thats such a good thing though...

I assume you mean it sounds Star Wars-ey...And not like something copied strait from the movies.

Music, like every other element is very important to us here.
Of course, the actual gameplay is what really counts but I think with us all pushing to achieve a valid Star Wars gaming experience, the music like everything else needs to have a sense of authenticity so the whole package feels right.

Man... i can't distinguish Steb's music between the music in the film.... that's something... that's really something.

I remember the early menu music for GC... this sorta techno-ish beaty deal... i really liked it... but it didn't quite fit... but when they changed the song, i really missed it...

so really, i'm glad we're starting off on the right foot here so i don't have to gripe about how i miss some music that really wasn't right to begin with

( actually, this is my first post beyond the Dev topics, so hooray )
Similar to what I said my dev diary, I just want to mention again how wonderful it is being part of this team, the daily work that goes into making these things happen is incredible.
It's a classic case of the sum of its parts.
The passion that floods the FS workshop is staggering - blood, sweat and tears...and probably a bit more blood
Once the first release is out I do look forward to figuring out how we can include music ingame that compliments it and is not just a 'soundtrack' while people blow each others brains out.
Sorry....strategically blow each others brains out.
The difficulty is that I'm sure to some degree no game is ever played exactly the same twice - the human side of things I guess.
So it's trying to figure out how we can get music to work in unpredictable scenarios - but I'm certainly excited about exploring how to achieve this.

I got to the sound page when I clicked somewhere in the big empty white box. Try that.

Oh, and I love the music. It sounds like the classic SW music, but at the same time it's new and fresh.

I have to say that FSDev| Steb74s' music will be some of the best themed music ever to grace a game, hes worked exceedingly hard at trying to replicate and add his own touch to John Williams masterful work.

Is there a soundfile hidden in the diary entry? i cant find one, although steb mentioned, that something is available to hear...or did i get it wrong?
