it kind of makes me mad how big the 2142 patches are but i guess thats how things go..

with a connection like mine, it only takes a 'few' hours. so thats not to bad - guess i shouldnt be complaining ":p

p.s. im really stoked to see how far the mod has really come

Well, I think the biggest problem would be that if you are running the beta patch and the servers the latest stable patch, you're incompatible. Depends on what they change wether or not FS will work on it

Okay, so... back to the original question...

As the current BF2142 beta patch is not compatible with the impending release... what happens if/when they make that patch official? Of course, it'd certainly suxxorz if they released a patch just a few days later than the FS release. How long do you think it'll take to patch FS up to the new configuration?

Yeah, it'll no doubt be dependant on what they change. Just wondering on a vague level. Do any of you have a source inside Dice who'll give you the heads-up (or are some of you coders ready to pounce) so the downtime will be, say 6 - 36 hours? Or are we looking at 1 - 4 days?

Just curious "how you're fixed for blades" in a worst-case scenario. [knocks forbidden wooden tiki hamsters with crossed fingers. "For luck."]

The switch threw us back a bit in terms of coding, and mapping due to a lack of a proper editor and debugging tools. But I believe our models and textures crossed quite well.

2 years. yea bf2 time included. but didnt woody say that you basicly had to start from scrats when trying to get it in 2142?

I don't care if it is the end of September, a quality release is better an early one. Besides, it means I can get a little more sunlight before hibernating with the new Mod

I pleased they told us it will be released in september. Now I have time to install game again and learn to play it just before mod comes to public.

Exactly...we've been waiting TWO YEARS...luckilly for me, I've actually only been watching it for the past 4 months, but its so incredibly close now...I feel like the days are going by sooo slow now...I just can't wait...I love the battlefield games, I love Star Wars, and this game will be 10 times better than any star wars or battlefield game, and I just want to play it soooooo badly.

Thought I did not expect it for September 1st, though early, mid, or late-september would have been nice.

We will try not to release it on the last day in september, but would you rather us have said nothing about even a release month?
I'm sorry but the mod has been in development for the past 2 years, and you guys can't wait one more month at the very most. That makes rybot sad.

big game companies say releasr q3.. so what wrong with saying the exact month?
personally i realy dont mind if it was the 30th if that would mean more content or bug fixes and a cleaned first release

omg, if you say "the mod is coming in september" then it is the 1 st not mid / end . if you plan to release it in mid / end september you must say this, yes very difficult ....

We said spetember because we knew we wanted and needed to get a release out, but could not pin down an exact release date. so it will be "within" september.

tat's if everything goes according to plan and no big chicken ups or anything

Great........ and I thought it was only big time game publishers who did this sought ofrelease time double speak thing....*sigh*

If it's early mid or late please state I don't mind, but to say Sept then release on Sept 30th (i.e. Oct) is BS.

Especially for those who have been following patiently without pestering from the start and wording the mod up in other forums and with ISP's, In the hope of providing good server pickup and participation.

Despite my gripe I am honestly etternally gratefull to those involved. Thankyou for bringing the mod to us.

Well, you will need to go back to the latest official patch before you can play.

It's 9 sleeps until september, but who said we were releasing on september 1st?
