My Dad brought me to see the remastered version of anh in the cinema. I wish I could remember more of it than just the trench sequence.

holy crap guys reading this made me remember about my star wars pog collection with the book. first time must have been when my grandmother got me the special addition box set of all 3 movies for Christmas.

Can you believe my gf hadn't even seen the sw movies. I was like WUT FOOL YOU MUST BE LIVIN IN A CAVE.

Join the club, I was 10 back in 1977 when Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope was released, or just plain Star Wars as we called it then

Saw it the Granada, Walthamstow with me Parents and Sister. Can remember the theatre was packed and everyone cheered when the Death Star blew.

to be honest 'm not sure.
i think i first saw the movies in a 3 weeks showing (1 per week ) on tv.
didnt see the first one completly but did the others. they where shown very late for me. well at hat age atleast.
it was at the time i had to go to bed a 8 :S

ANH playing on a demo TV at K-Mart or something. Was at the end of the movie, the Death Star run. Saw ESB when I was 3 or 4 but didn't remember any of it.

Then when I wanted to see the movies I didn't know which one was which so I asked the Blockbuster guy which one was the one with the Death Star exploding.

Hmm...First time for Star Wars. Time to show my age.

I was 16 and this new movie had just been released, my sister called me and told me that I had to see it and that I would love it. It was only playing in the local drive-in where I lived.

Neither me or my girlfriend could drive and nobody wanted to go see that stupid movie so I had to get my mother to take us. Well from the opening credits crackling in on the cheap drive-in speaker thought the whole movie I was mesmerized, as was my girlfriend AND my mom. It was just like watching the first moon landing - it was right there in front of your eyes but it was just so much sensor overload that you really weren't sure if it was real or fake. It engulfed you like no other movie did at the time. That was it, I was a die hard fan after that.

The great thing about my age is that I got to see the opening night of all the Star Wars movies. It was necessary so it didn't get spoiled since everyone I knew was going.

Heh, i remember those too. I may still have some of 'em around in a box or something. As for the topic, well that goes way back. The first movie i saw was ESB, good start for my fandom, i might've seen this on TV in the early 90's like straider, then Shadows of the empire on PC was also something that contributed to it.

1977 I was 5 at my local cinema ( no longer standing ) *all movies were seen on the big screen first*...I then had the option of meeting Darth Vader and and 2 Stormtroopers , which I remember being very unsettling on my young mind

I was 7 years old in 1977. My mother worked at the Odeon in Newcastle, and during the summer school holidays I used to have to go to work with her and hang around behind the scene or wactching a film.

I saw Star Wars so many times that summer, and the Odeon had a huge screen in those days (used to seat 1200 or so with an upstairs and downstairs).

man, that opening scene withthe Star Destroyer chasing down the Tantive IV was burned into my brain

I was 8 when ep.4 was released, lived in the Hollywood area..my mom took me and my sister to see it.
I have seen every Star Wars movie the first day of the release.

As a more mature(???) person, i have had the privilage of seeing all 6 movies in the cinema, albeit ANH was re-released when TESB came out. I remember being blown away the first time i saw them, and i still am.....

And i get to take my son to see them too..... and he's more of s Star wars Almanac than i am LOL

Oh, and i still own (and fight with) my lightsabres
