I was looking for a good mod for BF2 a few years back and rembered that there was a Star wars mod for 1942 (which I had never played), which got me hoping they would make a sequel. As it turned out they hadn't but a google search for 'Star wars bf2' or something of the sort found a thread on totalbf2 about a mod that had started just weeks before, and I had been watching the mod ever since. After months of waiting for the mod; I decided I had better brush up my mapping/modelling/coding skills and help out.

I think I did a google search for Star Wars mods, this was one of the results

One of the ninjas on my lawn threw a corpse through the window one day with a throwing knife impaled on it's head with a note that says "Hey we are running low of ramin and ovaltine over here. Just remember that the next time you do your shopping. BTW there is a cool Starwars mod coming out for BF2142, you should really check it out.".

i think i found out from the sir.community forums, then ty told me more about it and it sounded pretty cool, so i checked the website and sure enough, it was more than cool

On the very day that i had to make a terrible announcement that Shattered Faith, had abandoned all hope and was shutting down, I bumped in to golden dragon on the BF editor IRC channel and was chatting to him and others about makeing teh announcment, to which (probably jokingly) he said why not come join us.

So i thought about it for like an hour and agreed to speak to Xero and blitz about it etc.

I then started to feel guilty with reguards to the lads i left behind, I had been working with those guys for like 4 years so it felt awful of me to jump a sinking ship, and thus i pushed my luck a bit (more than i knew since i didn't realise there was a disliking for GC lol)

and basicaly said to xero/blitz etc, look, i have at least half a team here of realy good trsut worthy guys, i've asked around and they are pretty much up for giving another star wars mod another go and helping out.

luckily they took petty and Let them all in, and since then we've grown into quite a large bunch of mates i think.

p.s. the mod kicks pie !

I'd played GC in the very early days when it was stll just a quite basic Hoth map, and I found it graphically quite disapointing when compared to the other BF1942 mods about at the time like Desert Combat. So I didn't keep up with it and never really got to see GC in it's golden age and reach it's full potential.

Was by word of mouth for me in the end. I ran across First Strike last year thanks to my mate Boydie who I used to play with in the first clan I was involved with, TAW playing SW:BF1. I hadn't played much SW:BF2 as I'd been away for a year, and once I did get back and tried it out I found it mostly disapointing, but Boydie was on the look out for the next decent Star Wars gaming fix to keep the Star Wars gaming group of clanmates together, and the next big thing was First Strike without a doubt. So I checked out the forums, and when an opening came up I went for it like a shot.

I had played and loved GC and was wondering if anyone was making a starwars mod for the much improved engines of BF2+BF2142.And to my delight I stumbled accross FS on some random BF site(cant remember which).Been happy ever since:)

I got so happy getting accepted into the mod I completely forgot how I found out about it.
I think it was through www.bf2.se or perhaps www.bf2142.se (swedish bf sites), browsing for mods to join for a school project. This certainly was the most tempting of them all! Im not entirely sure that was the case tho

Either GC or SF forums, I can't remember anymore it was so long ago. (I ghosted these forums for months before I finally registered.)
