No, but the mods for both should be good,hopefully fh2 will come out 1 of these days, but this is the mod i have been really wanting to play.

there have been rumours/news that EA are not going any further with 2142 after the 1.40 patch.... which trhey hope to beta for the second time soon (aparently its going to be a smaller patch). As a 2142 player, i've been waiting for months for this patch , so i can't see the DEVs for FS waiting for that patch. the way EA are going, we'll all be waiting till next Xmas

We're talking about EA here, so dont expect it anytime soon. Momentarily it's just a beta, and i didn't see any official news about the finished release. (Overlooked it?)

FS could always release a hotfix perhaps.

Good enough reason for people to buy 2142 in advance, the 300 MB patch aint so much of a problem as there are alot of download mirrors in alot of countries close to nearly anyone, for europeans i suggest german sites, they are usually superfast in my case. Still, it's wise to do all this before FS gets released.

Because you dont want to get in too much of a download line when FS does get released, and i dont know how much sites will have it up for people to get it.

And thats especially directed towards Safe, unless he has the patience.

So true.I installed 2142 sat down and thought ,I'll just update with the latest patch before I get stuck in..............a couple of Hours later it was too late to play.
Imaine waiting for a 300mb patch to download and install while you know everyone else is flying X-wings,blasting the crap out of echo base or whatever lies in store on release.:mad:

Yeah patching actually takes lot of time.

Does it make a difference if you do it now or later? No efforts to be done, 2142 already sitting on your HD, download the mod and there you go.

At times i like something different, 2142 lacks in seriousness, but the futuristic theme with it's battlewalkers are fun, you got to love those stomping feet on your way into another infantry slaughter...
