Which is why it's only a problem the first few times, when you connect to a server/channel for the first time.

cause u have different servers and they all have channels

but most of the channels are in my favorites (those I use of course) and I just need to connect to the server

I use mIrc as client

very sweet program, but some learning at the beginning, like with every new program

It´s good to have. Easy real time chatting with friends. You can have it running in the backround, while doing something else.. Most irc clients I think have an option, that it gives a sound signal when someone writes a new message.. then you can just pop in the chat room to check it out.

You can both type and use a mic from what I understand. I just normally type with it. Check it out at http://www.irc.org I think. And if you have Mozzilla Fire Fox or Netscape (everyone should now adays, Internet Explorer is just too big of a security hole), you can download a plug-in and it'll work right in the browser.
