Asked that in the channel for you:

Preacher/mIRC: "We followed their rules to the letter reguarding game modifications (rules they drew up after GC was released), and since they had no problem with GC, and we followed the same exact rules, I say we are free and clear."

As you can see everything is safe. Apparently rules were created for game modifications including star wars or other copyrighted content after the release of GC (which was probably the start of it), the team now follows the same rules and demands, so there shouldn't be any problems. If LA had the intention of seeing this mod shut down we (i guess) would've heard about that long ago. The team wouldn't stick time in a project with no future.

It's just a go-ahead from LucasFiles and then the party will begin, heh. So no worries.

FSDev| General Un-Co wrote:

You are missing the point it is ILLEGAL for us to distribute Lucas Arts copywrited material (Star Wars) wtithout the concent of Lucas Arts. Giving you the mod is distributing copywrited material, if we do it is well within Lucas Arts's rights to shut us down if they so desire. We didn't make the rules lucas Arts and US copywrite law did. We have to play by these rules, we are not jepodising the mod for the sake of faster download speeds. The mod will be imediately uploaded too our sponsers (4uServers and HyperArena) servers for download when we get the all clear.

This isn't our choice this is the law.

Whats the chances of Lucasarts not approving the release of this mod?

Just to clarify, we only have to wait till Lucas Arts nods at us, thereby giving green light. You don't necessarily have to get it off LA's servers since those are sometimes a bit slow. All filehosters will get an exclusive link for the client once it is available on LA itself, you then can choose if you want to grab it off there or the exclusive 100mbit link. I'll also create a torrent, upload it to gameupdates.org and seed it.

And 3TB should be enough for some time.
I might provide a traffic balancing download.
