The mod does not affect the regular BF2142. However if BF2142 is not working correctly neither will First Stike. THerefor we sometimes recommend a reinstall of BF2142.

If you install First Strike you are still able to play BF2142

I have like... 4 or 5 mods on my regular BF2 and I can play vanilla just fine. No backing up needed.

A FS DEV just said to one guy that he might have to reinstall the entire game so I think that it would not be a bad idea to do it any ways. Better safe than sorry.

Theres difference between an addon/hack and a mod...

ou do not have to backup any files to install First Strike.

Eh - unless you installed wrong before that shouldn't happen. Mods work as if they are a separate game from v2142. Different folder, different exe (sorta), etc.

Most MOD's I have installed still affect the game when trying to get on the regular servers. I hope this one will allow me to play on the regular ones and the MOD. That would be nice.

It would still be a good thing to do anyways. I like to back up all my files on and external drive. Its just a good practice to do.

Um, the mod installs in a separate folder and doesn't affect the normal BF2142 files...

Remember to backup your BF2142 files before install. It will help you if you ever want to play on the regular servers again; or if you just need to reinstall the game for some reason. Like if this MOD doesn't install right for you or you get tiered of it. Of coarse I can't see how you would ever get tired of it.
