I have the same problem. Also Local games take an age to load.

Dunno why (i have an ATI card) but rest assured we'll be lookin into fixin this and all other issues ASAP.

That's most likely a problem with Geforce graphics boards. I do have the same problem from time to time. I've disabled the SLI function and it seems to work more stable now (Geforce 8800 SLI).
As far as I recall it's been mentioned in the nvida driver issues section of the latest driver release and thus being a problem of BF2142 not nvidia. Try ctrl+alt+del to bring up the task manager and close the application manually. Hope the next BF2142 update fixes that issue. You're not alone

hi all, i have noticed a problem, when u have played a local game, then if u return to the menu, and press disconnect, then my game freezes completely, and after that it was kinda hard to shut down, i had to wait 5min before i could use my taskbar, and it toke 5min to shut it down.
