I occationally get feezes on space maps, particularly Taloraan. I cannot alt-tab, cannot get into task manager, etc. The screen just locks and I eventually have to turn the computer off.

Most of the time the freeze happens after the map loads, verifying is done, then I hit deploy, it show IG graphics for a second and then locks up.

This has probably happened 4 times on taloraan all the same way with-in the last week or so.

XFX 7800 GTX
2g RAM 400mHz
AMD +4000 SD core

Go to the My Documents (thatd be your documents ) folder, go to BF2142 , mods, firststrike, cache and empty taht folder.

After downloading the patch i cant join a server without crashing to desktop. I'm just done with loading but just when the "deploy" button is about to come up the whole game crashes.....(Yes i have view distanse 100%)

Will there be a fix to include voices when using the commands ? ATM all i get is player text etc when using 'spotted' etc.

Untick ranked server filter in the advanced tab, if that doesn't help untick all filters and update the list.

My computer FREEZES, I had to hold the button 4 times today, no good for the hard drive, i'd prefer a ctd

freeze: those flying droid things you can deploy in a squad, well one of the kits I was able to put down two at a time and the 2nd one froze my computer

I was really close to an at-st and I had my rocket launcher on tattoine, I was behind a wall and my comp froze

I flew a speeder way up in the sky and I froze

E650 2.66ghz core 2 duo
8800GTS
2 gigs of ram

I dont lag and I run on high settings, however my comp is freezing

So here we go with a couple of hotfixes which will later be incorporated into an actual hotfix in a few days. For now you can fix your issues like so:

Error message

Shaders/StaticMesh.fx not found

No servers in server list
Fix: Untick ranked server filter in the advanced tab, if that doesn't help untick all filters and update the list.

Crash to desktops
Fix: We weren't really able to track down that yet because you can crash for a variety of reasons.
There are a few fixes of course:
- Crash in singleplayer. There's no singleplayet yet, don't try it. Instead create a local server.
- Crash on game start, might be related to BF2142 not being able to change screen to 60hz, check if BF2142 works. If it does, delete "My Documents\Battlefield 2142" and start the game. If that doesn't work, reinstall BF2142 and wipe all its folder completely.
- Crash on clicking deploy: Put viewrange to 100%!
