I wouldn't ever ask the devs to make this mod anything like SWBF 2. It was the crappiest representation of Endor ever.

And the numbers of certain classes are fine, and the navy troopers are storm troopers. If you mean the officers, there were only like 15 of them ever seen on Endor.

Edit: Safe there were no huge trails for ATSTs in the movies there were jsut gaps between the trees, no pathways. The map has plenty of room for ATSTs to get around right now. If you get lost, thats your own problem for being lame.

I don't mind the look of the models as much as I do the textures on the trees, and the ground especialy. It looks bland and gamish and I know it would be hard to do but any chance that we could get some trails for the AT-STs to walk down? like mabe pull some of the trees out and have like 2 trails that they walkers can use to get from capture point to capture point ala SWBF2? It would make the game more fun for the vehicle squad lovers like me, and then the Infantry would realy have to deal with the walkers first hand other than the way it is now where it only takes a few rocket launchers in the trees and a AT-ST to stop to turn for it to go down in 10 seconds.

I'm Not asking for a remake just a map that has some room for the vehicles on it thats all. I love the ammount of trees and bushes and it looks great but these are just my gripes with the map.

As for the Textures I think the trees need to be less red and more dark brown like in the movies, also the Storm Trooper on that map should be the trooper class, and the navy trooper should be the medic. That way you have a more correct number of Stormies and Navy troops on the map.

If you put 40,000 vanilla trees and put them there, theres no way it'd be playable.

if you want it to lookc lose to endor sacrifices have to be made with teh engine im afraid.

we are pushing the engine to its limits

Not much we can do tbh. The BF engine wasnt made for lots of vegitation , let alone a redwood forest.

Textures will probably get an update soon but the models cant become any higher poly without takin most of them out. BF2142 trees are like 1k-3k polies .. ours are 12 polies lol .

Theres just too many obstacles to go into really.

With hindsight , we should never have attempted an endor map. Its just not possible on this engine

No vanilla map has that many trees in one area, Bandu did a great job of finding a way to get us a forest with little performance drop. The map bugs are actually related to some code currently and not the visuals so he did good work IMO. But I disagree with you on vanilla looking better, ours look equally as good and in some situations better.

I know the amount of foliage on Endor would be tricky to pull off without a hitch on any engine. Also, there's some inherent alpha-blending issue with tree leaves that is kinda default with the game engine, which sucks.

Anyway, yeah. It's really hard to pull it off flawlessly, but rest assured the art guys will keep revising all the maps' art assets each release.

First things first, well done on this, seems great so far.

Few niggles:

Are the Endor trees and general ground foliage gonna get a makeover? No disrespect, its just they're not as handsome as the ones in Vanilla. I know they're obviously bigger but the coniferous trees in Vanilla looked alot more realistic.

There is alot of talk about the game looking better on medium settings, is this true? Have a look at this screenshot I took in Endor:

This on high settings but this is the limit of how good it looks right? Looks great but just wondering.
