Did you try several different servers? Usually that message comes up when either you have an oudated FirstStrike version, or the server does. Since you're up-to-date, perhaps the server is not.

But if that's happening for everything... well, that's a different matter. Usually you have to uninstall the mod, uninstall 2142, reinstall 2142, update to v1.25, update PunkBuster, reinstall FirstStrike, and update it to v1.1-- long list, I know-- but it'll only take 20 minutes of your life to do that.

I still have the same problem , i patch 1.1 but when i try to join a server , it says that i don't have an original version , i 'm so sad :-(

No one is looking for trhe single player, this post got turned around into another problem that is unrelated to the origal post.

If you want single player check out the single player mini mod thread in the General forum, it is still a work in progress but is better than nothing by far

I have the same problem you have phobos, I don;t know what happened in your post but it looks like someone stole it and made another question out of it.

No single player in this release.

If you see no servers then uncheck all your internet filters except for "same mod" and hit refresh.

I am also from the UK. When I try single player it also crashes to the desktop! When I look for a server there are none available. Are there any specific settings i need to adjust? Maybe I have missed something somewhere. My pc spec is as follows:
AMD Athlon 64 3500
2gb DDR 400
Asus A8N Sli SE
250 gb hard drive
Nvidia 6600GT (soon to become 79ooGT in SLi )

BF2142 is patched to latest version.

I am from the XvT World site (some may have heard of it?) and was looking forward to sampling this game, I will be writing a review on it so I REALLY want to get started

Hi from the UK. OK guys I had no problem installing but I cant play single player. It all loads up but it crashes when I deploy,tried everything but wont work. Had a brief go on multiplayer and it was great untill I lost connection (US server)then when I refreshed server there were none.

I success installing First strike , but when i try to join a server , BF says that I don't have an official version !!

Why ?

I have an official version and patch 1.25 .
