if you ever played swbf2 of swg you should know why where not making lightsabers.
also at the time setting of this mod there where only 4 people (movie lore) that could possibly use lightsabers: luke, yoda, darth vader and the emperor. and the only one you ever truely see fighting on the battlefield are darth vader and luke. with luke beeing a complete noob with it

As far as official lore is concerned, especially including the expanded universe stuff, there were several other jedi then those 4 in the movies...lots of them went into exile/hiding never to be seen again in the original movies...but they did exist...

Now as far as lightsabers in fs...NO....too many balancing issues arise when it comes..as cool as it might look it would just cause too many headaches...
