ty pbsetup.exe doesnt need to be in you pb fildor, as you can select any game that has pb.
just make sure when selecting the game it uses the right map/folder
pb has a log file with usefull information about why your getting kick. read this file and search for the error in google,
that is if pbsetup doesnt fix your problem.
also you could try this file http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe to test you current installed pb version. you can also use it to reinstall, but to do that please make sure you uniinstall pb with it first

Yeah and also mine was something to do with PB having problems writing to a file called PBag.dll or something like that. I found that by watching the console and what it was saying there. I deleted that .dll and ran the updater again and after a restart it appears to be working now.

Download pbsetup.exe

Put it inside your pb folder and use it to update....

I had it in a different folder and it didnt work, so maybe its the same deal with you guys.

I now am having PB kicks every time I join either First Strike or 2142. I even went and deleted all the PB files and did a manual update but it still is doing the same thing. It's as discribed above and says something about versions 1.266, A1375 and C1.745

I saw a lot of people dropping from all the servers so I wonder if it's some kind of error in the PB system? I had no issues at all yesterday so this all makes no since.

I guess all you need to do is kick up the particular version that that stupid server is runnig and get it on yours. That means no conflicts AND you don't get booted off in the middle of a firefight.

Wait, there are other servers? I'm not picking them up

Looks like it's purely the server. Phoenix -X-, or something like that. I've had no trouble on other servers.

Same here, was not getting errors yesterday at all but today I have been kicked for the same PB error 4 times. (I did a manual PB update too)

i got the same thing. it keeps repeating the message, then it says something about the server shouldnt be running pb

This provided no help at all. The BF2142 version (1.745) is totally different than what the warning message complained about (1.280). And the message said something about the SERVER version being wrong - I don't think I can do anything about that, right?

Oh, and there's no entry in pbsetup for FirstStrike either - so the BF2142 entry should be "the one", right?

my game loads fine but whenever i get in pb always says running old pb client version 1.280 how do i fix this?

ps does anyone else have only one server they can play in?
