OK after removing all, then re-install of

BF2142
Patch to 1.25
FS Full Version incl 1.1

We are now online and havin' fun.

Must have been either a corrupt 1.1 patch file, install problem or something!

On the Sony Laptop (above) cannot see anything inside the Hangar in Hoth, though on this desktop all is fairly clear, though you do have to turn the brightness right up. Also Destroyers are just big black triangles on the Laptop, see them fine on this Desktop.

Must be an Nvid Driver problem... though Sony haven't an update for it yet...

Anyway, enough waffle... Desktop it is. Thanks for all the support.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, but yes I can see the mods in the community inc FS Version (Build 4)?

The 1.1 hotfix update was installed after the first version 1, the servers I try to jump on are also 1.1's

Going to have to try and remove FS, but I guess this means taking of BF2142 too, then a complete re-install from scratch.

See how that goes... will then try the whole new FS file incl the hotfix in one go.

Unless anyone has any better ideas???

(Don't mention using the force either... tried and failed as my thoughts must have betrayed me.)

you sure the server is updated to 1.1 aswell?
patch need to ne 1.25 and fs version 1.1
how did you install? with v1 and the the hotfix 1.1 or the full 1.1 torrent download?
if you go into 2142 and there the community menu. you should be able to the installed mods there (yes 2142 is a mod aswell according to that), do you see FS listed there?
if not, the FS didnt install in the right place

Ok, so if it wasn't the 1.1 update then what has changed? I can run normal BF2142 great, no problem. I can login to FS fine, see buddies etc...

I installed this onto a new high spec laptop and all works (except still only see black silhouettes where there should be destroyers in Hoth).

Has BF2142 still got to be v1.25? Or will FS now need the 1.4 patch on BF2142 to enable it to work?

Still get the same message:

"This map contains customised content. The map creator might have more information about the map on the community site."

What triggers this message, whats is stopping me get on a server???

Help appreciated!

cleared the cache in my bf2142 folder but didn't see one for firststrike anywhere, tried to join a server still got the same message.

Same message using patch 1.25 no modded material... Not running bots... HELP havent been able to play at all.

Edit: I am an idiot, didnt see the 1.1 patch at all... My bad.

go to My Documents and overthere u see a folder called: Battlefield 2142, in those folder u got another folder called mods with a folder: bf2142 and FirstStrike, open them and u see a new folder cache, delete all the folders u see in the folder cache

Simular prob's here:

Go to click on a map (1.1) as I have installed the 1.1 patch, updated PB manually, cleared cache (just renamed My Documents>Battlefield 2142 folder to My Documents>xxBattlefield 2142)

It wont let us in!

Get the message:

"This map contains customised content. The map creator might have more information about the map on the community site."

It then prompts you to either 'Community' or 'Cancel'

Neither help us get on with trying the mod?

Can you... Please?
