Have a look at the fixes here. Most had this prob. In 1 there isn't a 'bf2142Launcher.exe' (not in my system anyway) change it to just 'bf2142.exe'.

It will go to the black screen and CTD. I have to launch normal 2142 and then launch the mod from the community menu.
Im sure its to do with screen reso's but so far my tinkering with the video files and the shortcut launch parameters have failed to make it work.
