What server did you play on Delusions?
On the Eclipse server we have weekly PVP space events, usually on Saturdays.

SWG was a twitch based space game, and actually I found it pretty fun. But there is very little multiplayer action.

It is build on (no pun intended) the ground game, which is a turn base MMORPG, so the player base is not really predisposed to play a PvP twitch based FPS space sim. The game compensates for this and has only one PvP space zone. The rest of the game is voluntary PvP. As a result you can play for days at a time without actually flying against another player. The only way to fly combat against other players in it is to arrange something beforehand.

(Sorry, I am an SWG refugee and tend to rant on the topic...)

Eternal Silence 2 - It's a HL2 mod. Pretty good actually, shame it hasn't gained much following. Has infantry and space flying combat (even joystick support). Plays surprisingly well IMO. Beyond that one the Descent series was good. Never played them multiplayer, not sure they have it, but they were fun. That series is pretty well dated at this point btw.

Yes SWG is an MMO, and the ground part plays that way. but in space, it is simulation style. However, it does have a subscription you have to pay for, so it would not be feasable if your just looking to get into quick combat. Not to mention, the ship they start you in is crap...and it takes a full week to switch sides...

But once you attain the ACE pilot rank, alot of options for ship and available equipment.(and getting ace can be done in a week)

It is fun...but not a quick fix for space combat.

but its an MMporg..I search for an FPS Style Space Shooter with mission, like FirstStrike..But perhaps its the only one :=

I play SWG. and it does have space. They put out an expansion for it called Jump to Lightspeed in 2004 sometime.
The ground part of the game is not FPS, but the space aspect is closer to FPS than on the ground. you have direct control of your ship, unlilke EVE Online.

There is Galactic Conquest, of course, but few people play it. And I doubt that too many will continue to do so now that FS is out.

EVE online is cool for an MMO, it gets repetitive though.....there is only one server and when i have played there has been atleat 26,000 people on. You can get a trial if you look for it.
One warning, you dont actualy fly the space craft , it is more giving instruction and fireing the weapons.....good game none the less, check it out and be open minded. check out the vids on there web page.......some of the best PVP out there, corp wars with hundreds of ships enganged in battle. very cool check it out.

Great game, i played Elite on C64..But i never found an other Multiplayer Space Combat Game with nice graphics..All are Singleplayer..So anyone knows one?
