are u using pbweb.exe or pbsetup.exe?
from what i heard pbweb.exe cant fix it, but pbsetup.exe should.
this problem can also be caused by the servers not having updated to the latest version of pb.
do you have the problem on all servers? including vanilla servers?

I keep getting kicked with corrupt or mismatched file 8BB4, I have updated pb manually, with the .exe and also reinstalled BF2142 updated that to 1.25 and nothing helps at all. Any help would be truly appreciated.

When you uninstalled Battlefield 2142, did you make sure that the folders were actually gone? I've seen uninstallers leave junk and settings-files behind before, I wouldn't assume EA is an exception.

There's 2 folders to look for... the program folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Electronics Arts\Battlefield 2142") and the user folder (usually "My Documents\Battlefield 2142").

I would uninstall battlefield > make sure it's actually gone > reinstall it > install the v1.25 patch > manually update PunkBuster > and then test the game.

Well the thing is, I was getting this error for regular 2142. Tried FS and it does the same thing though. It's not a FS issue that's for sure. Grrrr. Makes me mad that after 9 days PB support still hasn't responded to my help request after asking for my log data...

I thought had the same prob till i successfully updated PB then it appears ive receieved a 'PB GUID BAN' for some reason. i have no idea why

no havent hacked or cheated.

Just come back too the game because off this mod from a 3month break and im banned, hopefully i can get this sorted i really wanna play FS

itchy, go into your pb folder inside your EA>BF 2142 folder and open the text document named "pbcl" and copy and paste the text here. That tells you your PB crash log and why PB kicked you. That's what I have listed in my last post about the "Service Communication Failure". Just wish I knew how to fix it.

Hi,

Mod is great but Punkbuster keeps kicking me off after 1-2 minutes of playing on some games. Just getting into some space combat and BANG. PB kicks you off.

Anyone got a light to shine on the dark side of this for us????

are the pb services able to run and connect? firewall could be blocking it.
also try this http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
you can test your installation of PB with it, without having to start the game every time

That was the problem for me.

Ya actually it was. But now, as I put when I edited my post above, my game won't run at all. I'm going to sleep because it's late and going to hope that maybe it's just because I am already running a lot on my pc as is and just will try tomorrow after it's had time to cool down hehe.
