I tried a lot of different ways of removing and reinstalling PB.  Like using PBsvc uninstall, verifying all files were deleted, rebooting and then using PBsvc to reinstall.  Or deleting the PB folder, rebooting then using PBsetup etc...  I'm not sure what caused it exactly but I do know that in the log pnkbstrb apparently didn't have a valid certificate and failed to load.  I don't know but I am glad it's working now.  Thanks to everyone for all the help.

Basically I start playing then PunkBuster B shuts off and or disappears from the Services all together...

Unistalled from Control Panel. rebooted, reinstalled via PBsvc and am going to test it out right now...

I switched back to windows firewall and made sure the exceptions were there..

Ran PBsvc which installed and tested Punk Buster A and B.

I checked Windows Services and Punk Busters A and B were set to Auto start and both were running.

I ran First Strike, played 3 minutes then got the same error and was kicked.

Ran PBsvc again and confirmed that Punkbusters A and B were running.

I restarted First Strike and alt tabbed to services and Punk Buster B was gone - literally not on the list...  Something is making Punkbuster B disappear.

Yarg.

I don't know why PunkBuster B is not only stopping in the Services but it's disappearing all together as though it were never installed.

Did you restart your computer after you deleted your pb folder? you have to do that

yes go to punkbuster here http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=dl-bf2142.php download "PBsetup" after you have that installed on your computer go into your 2142 folder and delete the folder "pb" clear your recycle bin restart your computer and install the 2142 patches that should fix it, fixes it for me everytime

Anyone know whats up with:

The only server I found running 1.1 is DSGaming.  There seems to be a steady group of players on it but I keep getting kicked with the above error message...
