from what i remember commander was removed partly because having 2 different sets of artillery like bombardment is atm impossible.

just a matter of time one hopes till the coding monkeys get around it i guess

I've never been a commander but I have seen other people as commanders.

yeah i was commander also but i never thought much of it cause i thought we were supposed to be able to on those certain maps. i think i could have on endor too but i would have to go find out for sure and if i do il post some screenies. I helped my team kickpie when i was commander though

happened to me yesterday, it happened on a server where the unlocks where dependant on your BF2142 rank (so with my bf-soldier i could use all, with my FS-soldier i couldn't use any of them)... as stated by the others above, the "apply" option never disappeared, i made some screenies too...

(actually the text is german, but its the text asking you if you really wanna be commander of the team...)

this one features a screenie of the "#NAME?" bug (it seems to be something with the squadmember bonus-points) as well as of the apply bug

so i think the bug is dependant on the server settings!!

This has happened to me as well, also as an imperial on Mos Espa.

Why did you decide to scratch the commander, again? Being able to play as/under a commander was one of the features I looked forward most to in First Strike as opposed to Galactic Conquest.

That's very odd. if it happens again or if you can recall any details about how it happened then let us know.

oh, and the supplydrops should also now be disabled in the mod (wont spawn anything)

Basically whatever I wrote is what I experienced. I was both a squad leader and a commander, and I was able to be an officer class. Talk about cheap.

Happened to me as well.

I kept thinking "I wonder what the orbital strike is"

I thought it was gonna be fire support from a star destroyer or something

Ok I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but it's probably a bug.

Today I got to be a commander. It didn't make any sense. The option never disappeared, and I chose it.

Anyway, basically I couldn't do anything but supply drop, but it was still an unfair advantage because our team got free health/ammo while the other team didn't.

Also the commo rose chat wasn't working, a the tactical commo rose was replaced with the vanilla BF:2142 commo rose, so I couldn't even taunt this dude when I pwned him .

It was pretty wierd, perhaps a bug? Because the commander option is supposed to disappear from the squad menu.

Btw this happened as an Imperial on Mos Espa.
