Well after updating my drivers I was able to play one land combat map without crashing but it crashed on the forest like one.

Space maps are fine.

have you tried installing the latest drivers for you videocard and soundcard/chipset?
then try diverent sound settings.
also have you tried deleting the cache in "my files\battefield 2142\mods\Firststrike?

1. Usually on ground fighting maps for no apparent reason at random times the sound loops and the game stops responding. Using CTRL + ALT + DELETE works to kill non responding application.

2. Usually on ground fighting maps for no apparent reason at random times the sound loops or sometimes it doesn't loop, the game stops responding and CTRL + ALT + DELETE does not work to kill the application requiring a hard reboot.

I have tried reinstalling the mod and re patching but I am still encountering the same problems. I really like this mod and would like to play it but these bugs prevent me from doing so.
