What dawdler said and before I signed up the devs were taking too long they had been working on the mod for atleast a month, an entire month, maybe more! before I joined, I had to help speed up the process .

You have to really love modding to put in the time and dedication that it takes to put a total conversion mod together, like First Strike.

Most guys also have a need to create or build, and modding helps meet that need. Some guys, fix up cars, build models, remodel houses or even mod games.

I do it because a) it's fun to play with stuff that you've personally had a hand in making, b) I love the star wars universe, and c) all of the other star wars games to-date have left me wanting so much more.

Counterstrike was originally a mod for Half Life afaik

Didnt valve start that way. Or the head of valve or something was a mod developer. You can see from the mod these guys have obvious talent

I originally started it to make a good SW game, but it proved to be way more fun than expected

Well there is no money in it.

I initially joined the team to get a hang of industrial level game design techniques (I didn't know what COLs were before) and to stay trained in the programs that matter

if you guys ever wanted to join a game developing companie you could use first strike as a reference or wahtever its called and im sure it would help
