I read the books... it was a regular marine who was in the armor and attempted to use it, because of his inferior reflexes and lack of an endoskeleton the slightest twitch caused the suit to overcompensate and slowly break or crack every bone in his body. (All Spartans had their bones reinforced with an alloy, the books state few survived it.) the MJOLNIR armor was originally designed to be worn by regular marines, but it turned out only the Spartans were able to successfully use it.

Also, Idk, isn't an AT-AT, like, 10 times bigger then a scarab? The laser bolt alone would prbably be pretty big.

The again, the scarab could probably run circles around it.
