Collisions happen. But what I cannot tolerate is when I am on an enemies tail and get shot by an ally trying to kill the same target. That gets me pissed.

yeah that is pretty annoying. if i see somebody being followed i just fire in the general direction of the enemy ship and it normally thinks somebody is following it

When a collision is imminent just turn right, both of you, that opens a huge gap between both craft.
For collisions which happen out of your field of view you can't do anything.

Thats what I always try to do. Up and to the right. I have seen in some movie that it is the procedure in real life, but I don't know if that is true.
Anyway the opponent usually take that as a cue to increase to ramming speed

Helping your bud? No problem, just try to be atleast a bit sure your doing the right thing.

+1, I had plenty of that happen to me too. I even got TK's when someone else jumped in my loop, they bumped me and there ship health must have been low, they die , i get the TK.
Just get out of the loop and all is well.

i wish that was posible you get into a loop to loop theres no out in till one of yu mofos are D*E*A*D so i always go take this sucker and rum em take them with me im not going to hell alown . tell you a good party trick in BF2 get a dozen people to put C4 on your jet take off. point it at a  tank bail out you or your mate to presses the remote AND BOOM!!!!!.  a little capper gun can never commpear to a good bang not after you watched footage of operation desert storm for 12 hours  .

I agree.  This is heading down a flame war path and I was hoping at least these forums could avoid that!

My two cents on the topic:
Collision's happen.  Often you both think you'll off the other guy before he gets to you and often you are both wrong.  Thus, collision.  Team collisions just happen due to bad luck and ya, sometimes a lack of skill...but hey, c'est la vie.

Kill "stealing" is a good thing as it *should* kill enemies quicker and help the team meet the overall objectives.  Granted, sometimes folks do fly into your line of fire (or you proper) and that is annoying and sucks.  However, when I'm in a loop battle with an Interceptor, I really wish a teammate would drop by and pop the bugger so I can go back to keeping bombers off our capital ships.  If he happens to accidentally get me in the process, that sucks but at least he tried.

And why do you have to attack people just because they contradict you? It was the same in the "pistol" thread, for a Helpdesk you are not acting very mature.

So what is most important, Team victory or personal glory? Because I am getting mixed signals here:

I will ALWAYS gang up on some poor fool on the other team if given the chance either in the air or on the ground, if it means i take the kill off a team mate so be it, i also expect the same from my teammates, i dont hog kills, i'd rather they help me kill the enemy than wait for me to kill or die before they start shooting.  That said  Friend on friend collisions/TK's (especialy nades - watch were you throw them ffs) are a no-no, especially if its just your desperation to get that kill.  I suck at piloting (and i mean really really suck) but even i can avoid crashing in a dogfight, i might not get any kills but i dont get any TK's either (gunning a Ywing or C ap ship for the win in my case).

Do join in dogfights but dont be an arse about it is what it comes down to.

Have you ever played Battlefield before? Because I see you complaining about killstealing each time we discuss this, but most would agree that there is no such thing in Battlefield, since it is about Teamwork. If an enemy if killed faster by ganging up on him, then that is just great.

I do not complain about the people colliding with me, because I know they had little chance of avoiding it. But I do complain about the game mechanics that makes it a regular occurrence.

It is one thing if I lose a fight with the enemy, but it annoys me when I regularly have to respawn and fly back to the front without even being shot at.

And while "duellists" may not collide, like the other types of "Lone Wolf" they usually do little for the team.

First Strike may be about teamwork but there IS a score board and EVERYONE like being at the top, doesn't matter if you are trying to be at the top or not, I am sure you feel a little pride when yo usee yourself at the top.  And if you don't well thats probably because you fail at this game and are never there anyways.

Games are about having fun, to have fun you need to feel some sort of acomplishment, if yo unever win you aren't going to have fun very long. So people play to win, and get points because it is more fun to win and accomplish something than lose and fail.

I am one of the most team work oriented squad leaders in this game if you ever play in my squad with my clan you would know that. Space is the same story, when I have my clan members on TS and we are organizing our attacks we always win and we always have fun. Whether its coordinating the Gallofrees on Hoth, or taking out bombers on Taloraan.

I am very into team work so don't imply that  I am not.
