This reminds of a small issue I've always had since BF2142 was released. I customize a lot of my controls for playing and for some strange reason I always have to reset my Right and Middle mouse buttons which I use for walking forward and back. Every time I start the game those two settings are blank.

i dont understand this at all!! i reinstalled 2142 and first strike and i keep having the same problems?i have been able to play fine until lastnight.

i think it might be a windows thing. a new patch by microsoft?

it installed just before it started going wrong

now im having the same prob,i have been playing first strike since it came out with no problems then my comp crashed,i loaded first strike again now imm stuck at the deploy my cursor is frozen?

Ok. I reinstalled FS. Same problem, hit deploy = freeze. the menu is fine. I downloaded the patch again, thinking the file was bad. Same thing. Still weird.

If that happens your 1.1 patch didn't work correctly and you need to reinstall FS.

This has happened and I forgot to mention it. After patching First Strike the game kinda loads 2142. The weird part is all the buttons say 'Button-Select etc.' It's not the First strike screen. Is that odd to you? I've tried re-installing the 1.25 patch and sometimes that works, sometimes not.

As far as selecting kit and spawn, it never gets that far. It loads the map, verifies client data, then I hit deploy and it freezes.

Specs: Core duo extreme QX6700, 2G Ram, 8800 GTX. Should be plenty I think.
I manually update PB.
All patches are right.
I never ran the Beta patch.
I already reloaded everything. I'm trying it again just to make sure.
Kinda weird.

Make sure you've chosen both:
1. A kit
2. A spawn location.
