Having a mod that alienates a significant percentage of its possible player base just doesn't make sense.  I realize it wasn't intentional, but the situation needs to be rectified.

That's like releasing a mod for Battlefield 1942 1.4 and then having a 1.5 patch come out a couple of days later.  The logical thing to do is release a hotfix that makes the mod compatible with the latest release, even if it's in beta.

I think that would save this mod

And I'm sure there are quite a few of us that were playing frequently who are now spending our time with map creation.

This is what I'm doing also.  This mod is so kickarse that its actually got me mapping.  Can't wait to see what new statics they have in future releases.

Was P.O.'d when I had to reinstall BF2142 to play FS.

Ah smurf so a new official beta patch came out just after FS was released?  That sucks, bigtime. :\  That would be the cause of a lot of crash bugs people were having with FS, and those were the bugs that drove a lot of people away from the mod after the initial download and install :\

it cannot be helped I think. This mod is good now but it will be great when it is finished

They are like an army of robot zombies...they will download somthing just for the new content

I think that the new patch (even though beta; it has a new map which equals => people wanting to download it) has a mojor thing to do with it. And I mean a MAJOR thing! Think about it...the patch came out a day or two AFTER the mod. So take it rationally...there are two scenarios which can come out of the Beta Release of the patch...

1) Most people downloaded the mod and/or the patch for FS. They play it with great enthusiasm and when they see the new beta patch, they say "Ooooohhh....it must be my lucky 2 or 3 days! A new patch WITH A NEW MAP! Im sooooo getting this!" and then when they want to play FS..."Oh damn....it doesnt work...crap...oh well, it was fun while it lasted..."

or scenario...

2) They didnt know or hear about FS until it was too late...they downloaded the beta patch for 2142 and they go to download FS just to find that it doesnt work...

who downloads beta stuff from ea. Their released stuff is bad enough

constantly focusing on that is also not helping, instead of focusing on negativity focus on the positives like a great game made for you by volunteers in their spare time. Also focus on the fact that there will be more content soon for you to play with.

Yeah I know this mod is brilliant, you guys have done a great job and im still playing and looking forward to new content but there seems to be less players every time I go online.
