Nice, I just played vanilla 2142 tonight for the first time in months. Don't know why but I always assumed that a mod overwrote its original game, but I am glad that's not the case. Anyways, I got bored with vanilla 2142 after one round.

To play 2142 just use the shortcut that says 2142 not first strike. Or in the game menu click Community>Game modifications then select what mod (or the orriginal game) you wish to play.

Yes. First Strike does not change any of the BF2142 files.

yeah you dont need to worry about it overwriting anything at all.. so yep, you can go play vanilla when you get done shooting plastic boys

Thanks guys, but I thought that installing FS, or any mod for that matter, overwrites the original program's files. I am playing FS all the time (Mega_death I think I've been in your squad a few times) and am loving it.

So I can still go back and play vanilla just for the hell of it?

you're talking about being able to play fs and vanilla on the same computer? yeah you can do that just install everything like you normally would and since fs is a mod it shouldnt mess up vanilla at all.
